Questions & Answers

Why do you write fantasy?
I write because I enjoy the process of creating new worlds and populating them with interesting people. True, I could do the same thing in Science Fiction and with my background in computers one might expect me to write in that genre instead. But I associate technology with work, and so writing about it isn't enjoyable for me. I'd much rather fill my head with spells and dragons than space ships and laser rifles.

How did you get into fantasy writing?
Years ago I had a computer game in my head, but I was never able to sit down long enough to make the game a reality. Then one day I decided I needed to write some of it down so I wouldn't forget it. As my description got more involved it started to look like a story. So I started writing it AS a story and found the process very enjoyable. I kept writing and writing and finally ended up with a book. That one will probably never see the light of day, but it expose me to the joys of writing.

What will you be working on next?
I'm currently working on the second book in the Green Tree series. I can see that story line becoming 3 or 4 books (maybe 5). I've also got a idea or two forming in my head about dwarves, but we'll have to see if they becomes something book worthy.
